Did you know that by looking in the whites of the eyes we could tell the real condition within the body? Sclerology may be generally defined as the science of the markings in the whites of the eyes describing conditions of health. More precisely, it is the study of those markings and colourings in and on the sclera layers, as differentiated from the signs within the bulbar sclera conjunctives membrane, which overlies the sclera. It shows exactly where the highest stress and congestion are located in the bodily being, where such stress and congestion are coming from (originating cause), how much of the stress is emotional, how much physical, and how much both combined.

Let’s talk about History

Many countries have a long tradition of using the sclera to evaluate health. The Chinese have used the sclera markings for at least 1000 years, probably many more. The Native Americans also have a long history of sclera use. Dr. Stuart Wheelright, a Natural Health Practitioner who apparently learned his first Sclerology from Nez Perce Native American began making drawings in the 1960’s. My teacher, Dr Leonard Mehlmauer, Naturopath and Holistic Practitioner, drew his first chart in 1976. He is one of the pioneers of Iridology and Sclerology and, he is the founder of the World Eyology Guild.
